October is proving to be an exciting month for us here at Wow! Our Small Business Month (SBM) virtual workshops were a huge success, with outstanding attendance and some truly inspiring questions from the audience of like-minded entrepreneurs. Thank you to everyone who joined, we loved seeing so many business owners stepping confidently into their brand journeys.
This month, our newsletter focuses on Brand Confidence: Why Owning Your Unique Value Makes All the Difference. WHY OWNING YOUR UNIQUE VALUE MAKES ALL THE DIFFERENCE
Your brand is more than just pretty packaging, a user-friendly website and excellent products and services. Its so much more. Your brand is what differentiates you, it’s what makes you stand out and gives your audience a reason to connect with you on a deeper level.
If you want to make your brand great, you need to flesh it out. Take the time to share your story, give your brand a personality injection and shout your values and what’s unique and special about you from the rooftops! When you know who you are, what you stand for and confidently own what makes your business different, everything changes: clients take notice, consumer confidence and trust grows and opportunities start coming to you!
Identify Your Unique Value
In order to showcase your brand and get people talking about you, you need to know what makes you different. What is special or unique about you, your staff, your offering and how your business operates.
Ask yourself:
What do I do differently?
What do my clients love most about working with me?
What problems do I solve that others don’t?
What personality traits from my staff and myself shine through above all others in our work?
Write a list of these key differentiating factors and use them as the basis of your messaging to confidently communicate what’s special about your business and why people should choose your offering over others.
Communicate with Confidence
Once you know your value, make sure it shines in your messaging. Celebrate what makes you special with clear, consistent, confident messaging across all your touch points. Share it on your socials, spruk it on your website, make sure you’re communicating your values and your USP in your offering and when you’re speaking with your clients in person and via email.
Quick exercise: Craft a one-sentence statement that clearly communicates why clients should choose you over anyone else. If you can effectively communicate this to your audience, you’re going to project strength and confidence and that translates into sales and loyalty.
Embrace Your Story
People connect with people, not products. Share your journey, challenges, and wins to make your brand memorable. Your story is what makes you special. It’s what differentiates you from the rest of the crowd and showcases your passion, values and authenticity.
Use your SM platforms to share insider tips, personal experiences, client success stories and how you’re living your values. Your audience wants to understand more about you than just what you sell. They want to connect with you.
Confidence in Action
Confidence isn’t about being perfect, it’s about showing up consistently and authentically. Be bold but true to your style. Celebrate your wins, share your challenges, offer tips and tricks based on what you have learnt along the way.
Tip: Choose one “bold” action this month that highlights how you’re living your values and own it. Tell people about it and give people something to celebrate and share about your business.
Remember brand success is driven by how well you can connect with your audience. Make sure your personality shows through and share your story. When your brand exudes confidence and authenticity you will attract your tribe.
Take a small step this week and celebrate what make you special, you might be surprised by the impact it creates!

When used consistently across all your marketing communications your brand is a powerful tool that helps you to stand out from your competition and build an engaged and invested customer base.

From cavemen drawings to campfire legends, storytelling has a revered and powerful place in society. If you can tap into that long standing tradition and engage your audience you can create an authentic and memorable connection with your customer.
