Scallywags were after a tiki inspired menu design for their newly opening bar in Bondi. Full of bright colours and reminiscent of a Polynesian tropical hideout, this eye-catching menu is playful and radiant.

Scallywags were after a tiki inspired menu design for their newly opening bar in Bondi. Full of bright colours and reminiscent of a Polynesian tropical hideout, this eye-catching menu is playful and radiant.
Inspired by the original and very first tiki bar; Don the Beachcomber, Scallywags wanted to recreate the original 1930’s Polynesian vibe.
The target audience includes the trendy eastern suburbs bar hoppers and the backpacker locals who call Bondi home. Aged 18-45, this nostalgic nod to the tiki days of old needed a fun and engaging design to draw in patrons and get people talking.
Designed in A3 with a light background, the menu takes into consideration readibility in low light situations.
Honouring the famous man himself, the hand drawn illustrations and traditional cocktail recipes pay homage to the original beachcomber heritage with just a subtle texture twist.
Along with the menus a series of Instagram advertisements were also created to promote Scallywags events.
